Positions Available
Undergraduate Internships
Undergraduate internships available. Internships are typically unpaid, though it may be possible to arrange for course credit. Berkeley students may also apply research toward their Honors Thesis.
Research technician
We are not recruiting for a research technician at this time, but we anticipate having an open position in 2022. If you qualify, consider applying to the lab through the UCSF Diversity Supplement Matchmaking Event in January. See the UCSF PROPEL website for more information.
Graduate student positions
Slots are available for graduate students in the UCSF Tetrad Program, Developmental and Stem Cell Biology Program and the Biomedical Sciences Program. In addition to program specific activities, students will have the opportunity to participate in all events and funding opportunities offered through the Eli and Edythe Broad Center of Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research and the Center for Reproductive Sciences.
Postdoctoral fellowships
April 2021: Now recruiting for an NIH-funded post-docoral position to study mechanisms that govern cell fate in epithelial stem cells.
Building on our recent publication of a cell atlas of the Drosophila ovary, we have several new projects aimed at understanding epithelial cell fate specification and plasticity using the Drosophila follicle stem cell lineage as an experimental model. Projects may take advantage of single cell transcriptomics, quantitative 3D and 4D fluorescence microscopy, CRISPR barcoding and other genetic tools, and studies of intracellular pH to discover new mechanisms of tissue homeostasis and repair. Experience with these techniques are a plus but not required. We also support the combined research and teaching postdoctoral fellowship through the IRACDA program (see ad here). Interested applicants should send a CV, a summary of research accomplishments and interests, and a preferred start date range to Todd Nystul ([email protected]). Position will be open until filled and the start date can be anytime in 2021.
