Fly Stock Database

To upload your stocks as a batch:

  1. Download this zip file:  DatabaseCSVs
  2. Open the upload_stocks.csv file in Excel and add your stock data.
  3. Perform a Find/Replace to remove all single apostrophes (') from your data
  4. Fill in any empty fields (e.g. with the word none).  Note, you can do this using the autofill function in Excel by typing the word none in the first row and then dragging the lower right corner of the cell down to the last row in your table.
  5. Save the file as a Windows csv file.  Note, it is in this format already, so it should happen by default when you click "save", but if it doesn't then it is a menu option in the Save as... dialog box.
  6. Log into the Fly Stocks Database, go to the Fly Stocks menu, and choose "upload stock"
  7. Select your .csv file and click save.

To upload a batch of Bloomington stocks:

  1. Download this zip file:  DatabaseCSVs

  2. Open the copyfrombloomington.csv file in Excel and add your Bloomington stock numbers, one number per row.

  3. Save the file as a Windows csv file.  Note, it is in this format already, so it should happen by default when you click "save", but if it doesn't then it is a menu option in the Save as... dialog box.

  4. Log into the Fly Stocks Database, go to the Fly Stocks menu, and choose "Copy from bloomington"

  5. Select your .csv file and click save.

To print stocks:

  1. Log into the Fly Stocks Database and perform a search that returns exactly the stocks that you want to make labels for (e.g. User = "Lab", Box > 2)
  2. Click the Download CSV button at the bottom of the table
  3. Download this docx file:  labels and open it in Word
  4. The Mail Merge Manager should open in Word by default but if it doesn't go to the Tools menu to open it.
  5. In the Mail Merge Manager window, click on Get List, which is in the "2. Select Recipients List" section
  6. Choose the .csv file you downloaded
  7. Click "Merge to New Document" which is in the "6. Complete Merge" category.
  8. Use this new document to print labels.
